The Victorian Essential Learning Standards is a system of curriculum and standards from Prep to Year 10 in all Victorian schools. The Victorian Essential Learning Standards (VELS) replaced the Curriculum and Standards Framework (CSF) as the basis for curriculum and assessment in Victorian schools from 2006. The VELS were developed by the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA).

CYC Ltd has developed the CYC Educational Focus Document to be compliant with VELS as an aide to teachers in planning a productive and valuable educational camping program at one of the CYC facilities, and covers various on and off-site activities as well as the overall school camp experience.
