Where Teens Grow Together

Talking about the way that camp allows teens to be themselves. Whether it is coming out of their shell, finding like minded friends, or exploring the things they enjoy.

Campers who are comfortable on camp who are normally quiet. Campers who make heaps of friends on camp, but normally struggle to make friends. Campers who are low in confidence realising they are brave enough to try new things or go on the flying fox.

Camps made just for TEEN campers

OUR CAMPS are made amazing by our INCREDIBLE VOLUNTEERS

Whilst all of our camps are overseen by a CYC Staff member, our on-camp leadership teams are predominantly staffed by an incredibly passionate and dedicated group of volunteers, who are excited about spending a week of camp with your teen camper.

Become a leaderfaq

PASSIONATE LEADERS READY TO SERVE

Our volunteers all come from local church communities, with many of them also having previously been campers on our camps, and are passionate about giving young people and families an experience to remember on camp!

AT LEAST 1 LEADER FOR EVERY 4 CAMPERS

Our Volunteer leadership teams typically operate at a 1:4 ratio with campers, which means that not only are our campers supervised effectively, but they also have the opportunity to build relationships with some amazing role models.

ALL LEADERS SCREENED & REFERENCE CHECKED

In order to volunteer on one of our Holiday Camps, volunteers must complete the CYC Volunteer Application form, which assesses the suitability to lead and includes the checking of two references,  and confirmation that they hold the relevant current Child Worker Checks.

TRAINED IN ROLE & CHILD SAFETY

All of our volunteers engage in relevant training, including Child Safety and role-specific training, and are supervised by one of our staff team members who will be on-site at all times. If you would like to know more about our Child Safety Policies, you can check those out at the button above

Leading With Purpose on our teen Camps

FOR PROGRAM OVERSIGHT & OPERATIONAL SUPPORT

HOLIDAY CAMPS COORDINATOR
ELSIE TURNER

Elsie oversees Holiday Camps across CYC sites and supports Camp Directors to ensure programs run smoothly, safely and consistently. She also assists with broader operational matters when required.

FOR OVERALL MATTERS & parent enquires

The Cabin Coordinator oversees the care and support of campers and cabin leaders throughout the camp. If your child needs additional support, is feeling unsettled, or you have wellbeing concerns, they are the person to speak with.

FOR YOUR CHILD’S DAILY CAMP EXPERIENCE

Cabin Leaders are the front-line volunteers who care for a small group of campers. They guide activities, provide encouragement, and help ensure every child feels safe, included, and supported throughout the camp.

What ages can go on Teen camps?

Our Teen holiday camps typically run for those in years 7-12, however we also run specialty camps across the year for Years 7-8 and Years 9-12

How long are CYC camps?

Most of our school holiday camps run for a total of four nights, though there are a couple of programs shorter or longer. Check out one of our specific camps to see their start and end dates.

Who are the leaders at CYC's Teen caamps?

We wouldn’t be able to do what we do without an amazing team of dedicated volunteers!

All CYC camps and events are predominantly staffed by an incredibly passionate and dedicated group of volunteers, who are excited about spending a week of camp with your young person or family. Our volunteers will lead a group of campers throughout the week, getting to know them well and acting as role models for the young people on camp. Our teams typically operate at a 1:4 ratio with campers, allowing for both effective supervision and the opportunity to build impactful relationships.

Volunteers all come from local church communities and apply directly to our CYC staff team, who will ensure that their application aligns with our mission and values. All our leaders provide multiple references, engage in relevant training including Child Safety and role-specific training prior to camp, and are supervised by one of our staff team members who will be onsite at all times.

What do the teens do on camp?

Our camp programs look different depending on the camp and the location. From cool themes and tailored games, to site activities, like the flying fox or archery, there is something for everyone to enjoy at each camp.

Some kids love the chance to play board games during free time or hang out at the Gaga pit. Each day also includes a session with time for Christian input. Mealtimes at camp are always a great place for conversation and wider connection.

What does the Christian input look like for teen campers?

The daily sessions on Teen camp are designed to help kids understand and engage in faith content. The worship songs are fun and interactive. The camp speaker shares during the daily sessions about Jesus and what a relationship with Him looks like. The sessions are followed by time where the campers can talk with their cabin mates and leaders about what they have learnt and any questions they have.

My teen needs additional behavioural support. Can they come on camp?

Our camps run at a 1 volunteer to 4 campers ratio. This means that campers need to be able to regulate themselves and care for themselves; however have the support and supervision of a volunteer leader at all times. We often have campers on camp who have ADHD or an Autism diagnosis, and they thrive in the fast-paced and engaging environment with the support of our amazing volunteers. If you aren’t sure your teen would suit the 1 to 4 ratio, we would love to chat to you and figure out whether camp could suit them

What if I need to change or cancel my booking?
